Fischer-Tropsch wax is widely used in plastics processing, particularly in industries such as injection moulding, extrusion and pelletising.

1. Main Functions

Internal lubricant: Reduces intra-molecular friction in the plastic melt, improves flowability, and reduces torque and energy consumption.

External lubricant: Reduces friction between the melt and the surfaces of metal equipment (barrels, screws, moulds), prevents adhesion, and improves demoulding performance.

Dispersant: Helps pigments and fillers (such as calcium carbonate and talc) disperse evenly within the resin, preventing agglomeration.

2. Specific Applications

Injection Moulding: Improves melt flow index, reduces injection pressure, minimises mould fouling, enhances demoulding efficiency, and produces smoother product surfaces.

Extrusion: Reduces extruder current, minimises material build-up at the die, and improves output and dimensional stability.

Pelletising: In masterbatches, aids pigment wetting and dispersion, and reduces filtration pressure drop.
