Available security options

The Safe Toorque Off option can be used as a network or hard-line solution. Both are certified with SIL 3, PLE, and Cat 3 standards. This option, in response to safety system requirements, does not remove the power from the drive that accelerates the start of the drive, but instead removes the rotational power of the engine.

The Safety Speed Monitor option is certified as SIL 3. The PLE and Cat 4 options allow you to safely monitor and control the speed of your application. This enables operators to carry out certain processes or maintenance work without stopping the machine.

The Integrated Safety Function Options module provides advanced security on the EtherNet/IP network. The safety instructions are based on IEC 61800-5-2 and include the ability to monitor speed, direction, and position. When used as part of an integrated safety system that includes a GuardLogix®5580ES controller or a Contical GuardLogix 5380ES controller, the Integrated Safety Function Options module offers the highest level of safety, including SIL CL3 and PLE Cat 4. The safety rating is Studio 5000 Logix Deter ® application version 31 or later.
