Improving surface properties

Scratch resistance and abrasion resistance: The fine wax particles form a lubricating, dense protective layer on the adhesive film surface, effectively reducing the surface friction coefficient. This makes the adhesive layer less prone to scratching and more wear-resistant.

Slipperiness/Anti-Adhesion: Reduces surface tackiness, preventing adhesive layers (e. g. , tapes, labels) from sticking together during winding (back adhesion) and facilitating subsequent processing (e. g. , die-cutting, slitting).

Improved Processing Performance

Reduced Melt Viscosity: In its molten state, wax significantly lowers the overall melt viscosity of hot melt adhesives, enhancing flow properties. This facilitates easier application methods (e. g. , spraying, coating) and reduces energy consumption in application equipment.

Cost Reduction

Wax is typically priced lower than most polymeric binders. Appropriate addition levels can contribute to a reduction in raw material costs.
