ECTFE is a partially fluorinated semi-crystalline polymer that offers a unique combination of properties for high-demand industries. It is widely used as a lining or self-repairing material (jetting) in anti-corrosion applications. Its excellent fire resistance and chemical resistance make ECTFE the preferred choice for wire and cable applications. ECTFE provides purity, smooth surface, chemical resistance, and fire resistance, which are key characteristics in the semiconductor and photovoltaic markets. This unique product can offer a smooth, uniform, and hole-free surface, providing high-quality corrosion protection for complex components that are not suitable for electrostatic powder coating. This includes components used in aggressive chemical processing environments, such as those with complex shapes and uneven surfaces, oversized containers, interior piping, tanks, and containers. The ECTFE waterborne coating system possesses the same unique combination of properties as ECTFE powder coatings: long-lasting performance, excellent chemical and permeation resistance, special surface characteristics, and high purity. This waterborne coating system consists of a high-saturation matrix and a topcoat layer, providing an opportunity to use thinner coatings than competing materials to reduce cycle time. It can also be easily applied to a variety of metal substrates using standard liquid spray equipment. Additionally, the ECTFE waterborne coating, with its very low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAP) formulation, can be applied continuously to meet strict regulatory requirements.
